Rickey Chambers

Rickey passed away peacefully from this life Wednesday morning December 6th, 2023, at home after a gradual decline in health. He was in the company of his fiancé Kay and his caregiver's. Rickey was born in Montego Bay Jamaica March 26, 1960. He attended Ms. Mary Basic School then moved on to Salt Spring All Age and then Mount Salem Secondary. As a child Rickey was baptized into the Pentecostal church. At the tender of age 18 years old he gained employment at Sangster International Airport/AJAX where he was a mechanic for a few years. Rickey needed more from life, he wanted to help his mother who he loved dearly and his siblings. He decided to travel abroad in search of a higher paying job. Rickey traveled to the United States in 1992 and continued his career as an auto mechanic. Rickey was forced into early retirement in 2006 after a massive stroke. This took a toll on Rickey as he was now unable continue his auto mechanic career as well as enjoy his hobby which was installing music and accessories into cars and hanging out with his friends. Rickey is survived by his fiancé Kay who has been by his side for over 25 years, one bonus daughter, one son, daughter in law, 6 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
