Richard John Scott Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born on November 1, 1938, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his career, and most importantly, his family. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Richard served with honor before embarking on a long and distinguished career with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Over the course of 34 years, he rose through the ranks from toll collector to retire as a Captain--a testament to his commitment and work ethic. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Shirley Scott; his son, Richard Scott Jr., and daughter-in-law Gabriela Scott; and five beloved grandchildren: Charles Mattera, Megan Wisniewski, Michael Fiore, Nicole Fiore, and Daniella Scott. Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Ann Fiore and son Steven T. Scott. Richard's legacy lives on through the love he gave and the memories he created with those closest to him.
