His brothers George and Bob predeceased him. Richard married Linda Clark on November 26, 1971 and they have two sons, Michael and Christopher, and three grandchildren, who refer to him as "Pepé". Richard graduated from Stranahan High School in 1966. He attended Broward Junior College, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Sigma Fraternity where he made many lifelong friends. He graduated BJC with an Associate of Science degree. After junior college, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a business degree in 1971. GO GATORS!! While he was in school in Fort Lauderdale, he worked at Pirates World in Davie, and still enjoys friendships from that time. Richard was a licensed General Contractor and worked on the construction of several fine houses and estates in Fort Lauderdale, while he was employed by his father's construction firm. During that time, he received the Broward Builders Exchange 1987 Craftmanship Award. Richard and Linda spent a year in the 70's in Santa Ynez, California, with his brother George, building a home for Ray Kroc on the McDonald's Ranch (The Big Mac), where a McDonald's test kitchen was located. The family moved to the Wellington community at its inception, and Richard worked on many housing projects there during the next 25 years. After retirement, Richard and Linda purchased and renovated a house in the Historic District of Ocala. Richard loved the arts and was a history buff and trivia enthusiast. He loved going the annual Las Olas art show with the family, pulling his two young boys in their Red Flyer wagon. Richard especially enjoyed his annual trip to Sebring for the car races and reuniting with a group of friends. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Richard and Linda met on a regular basis with a group of friends that started out over 30 years ago with parents of their son's friends, and grew over time. The family hopes to see you at the Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 21st. One of Richard's wishes was to have everyone feel relaxed and comfortable, and to dress informally, so you are encouraged to wear casual clothing, such as Hawaiian shirts and Gator attire. Following the Celebration of Life, the LeMieux family would like to invite you to visit and have lunch at the Lemieux residence, 12890 Guilford Circle, Wellington, Florida.
