Richard L. Jarvis Obituary Richard L. Jarvis, 79, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Loxahatchee, Florida. Born in Quanah, Texas, Richard lived a life defined by dedication, service, and love for his family and community. A 1963 graduate of Hialeah High School, he later earned his degree from Biscayne College in Miami, Florida, in 1982. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era before embarking on a distinguished career in law enforcement and public service. He served as a detective and firearms instructor with the Hialeah Police Department and worked with the Musselshell County Sheriff's Department in Roundup, Montana, the Medley Police Department, and the Lake Worth Police Department. Later, he continued his commitment to public service as a Revenue Officer for the IRS. An accomplished marksman, Richard won numerous awards throughout his lifetime, including a Florida State Championship, demonstrating his exceptional skill and passion for competitive shooting. Beyond his professional achievements, Richard was an avid reader who especially enjoyed discussing Bible prophecy and his faith. Throughout his life, he was an active member of several churches, including North Hialeah Baptist Church, Miami Springs Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach, Jog Road Baptist Church, Florida Gardens Baptist Church, and Connect Church in Royal Palm Beach. His love for studying Scripture and sharing his beliefs was an important part of who he was. Richard was predeceased by his beloved son, Travis Jarvis. He is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Suzanne Jarvis; his son, Emmett Jarvis (Jessica); and his cherished grandchildren, Spencer Jarvis, Jaelynn Cintron, and Jocelyn Cintron. He also leaves behind his sister, Jeri McLaughlin (Jack); a caring niece; his dedicated nurse, Mahrya Homack (Dan); as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Richard's legacy of service, faith, and devotion to his family will be forever remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
