Rev. Richard James Brookshire

Reverend Richard J. Brookshire, Sr., 91, of Greenacres, FL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015. Born in Beaufort, SC, he was the son of Clarence Foreman and Annie Laurie Tollison Brookshire. Richard served Our Country proudly for 5 years during WWII with the U.S. Air Force and was an alumni of the University of South Carolina. After graduating from New Orleans Theological College, Richard was ordained at Rosewood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC in 1951. Reverend Richard was affiliated with Victory Baptist Church for 30 Years and has pastored churches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. On September 21, 2014, Richard took part in the Veterans Honor Flight from Palm Beach to Washington DC., which he was very proud of. Richard's memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Judy Stephenson Brookshire; children, Richard J. (Donna) Brookshire, Jr. and Ann Martin; step-daughters, Renee (Darryl) Thompson. Sharon (Michael) Russo and Tracy (Carlos) Stephenson Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held 10 AM - 11 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Palms West Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Air Force Honors will follow services.
