Richard Charles Bennett

Richard Charles Bennett, February 26, 1954 - August 6, 2013 Rick passed quietly on Tuesday, August 6 after a brief but final bout of pneumonia. Born in 1954, the eighth child of ten to James and Charlene Bennett of Royal Oak Michigan. Rick graduated Southfield Lathrup High School in 1972. Rick moved to Florida where he eventually met his wife Lisa at the kidney transplant clinic at Jackson Memorial. They were married in 1988 at the South Florida Fairgrounds as part of a fund raiser for the Kidney Foundation, as they were both kidney transplant recipients, Lisa's from her father Tom, and Rick's from his brother Jim. They spent their honeymoon as The Pair in the Air at the Fair raising money for the Foundation. They worked together at Public Storage until Lisa's passing in 1999. Rick then relocated to the Tampa Bay Area where he took a job as warehouse manager for Rebath Tampa. Rick leaves behind brothers Jim and Mike, and sisters Mary, Cindy and Rita. Rick is pre deceased by his wife Lisa, his Mother Charlene, Father James, and brothers Edward, Patrick and most recently Robert. Rick's memorial will be a time and date yet to be determined in South Florida when all his family members can be present.
