Raymond Joseph Wicks

Ray Wicks, age 78 of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on November 27, 2018. He was born to the late Joseph and Mae Wicks on June 19, 1940 in Queens, New York. While growing up in New York, he met his wife Margaret (Compte) Wicks and they were married for 55 years. They eventually moved to Poughkeepsie, NY in 1968 where he worked for IBM. IBM moved the family to London, England for two years from 1979-1981, where the family had the opportunity to travel all over Europe. Then from 1981-2001 they lived in Derwood, MD until moving to West Palm Beach, FL where he retired from IBM and computer consulting in 2012. Ray loved traveling, motorcycles, gardens, and reading. He loved spending time with friends and family who came to visit him in Florida, which he called "Paradise." He is survived by his wife Margaret, West Palm Beach; daughter Bridget (Bob) Kulick, De Pere, WI; son Dan Wicks, Atlanta; 5 grandchildren, Jake, Ross and Emmett Kulick, Megan and Ryan Wicks; one brother Dr. Robert (Michaele) Wicks. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Wicks. The family would like to thank Wellington Regional Medical Center ER and ICU and the staff of TrustBridge Hospice at the Hospice of Palm Beach County. The family will be holding a private ceremony in his honor. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to Doctors Without Borders or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
