July 31, 1951 – March 24, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Raul DeJesus announce his passing on March 24, 2018 at the age of 66. Raul served honorably in the U.S. Navy for six years aboard USS TANG 563. While in the Navy he attained the rank of Petty Officer Second Class in the field of Engineman. He completed all courses up to Chief Petty Officer in both Engineman and Machinery Repairman ratings. In addition, he completed courses in the 38ND 8=1/8 diesel engine, silver brazing, and submarine damage control. Furthermore, he held a certificate for successfully completing the three-year course in Machine Shop at Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School. Raul had a great passion for sports, with a special love for baseball. He played, umpired, and coached for many baseball leagues within the City of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Throughout the years, he had many accomplishments. To name a few: Subron 7 Pearl International Division Champions USS TANG 563 (1972), 1st Place Puerto-Rican Tournaments (1976), Latin King League Champs (1982-1983), Latin Kings B-1 Champs (1985-1987), Catcher-MVP-All Star (1988), Bethlehem Hispanic League Champions P.R. Club (1989), 1st Place/P.R. Club Tigers/2, All Star Manager & Manager of the Year (1989), 14th Annual Latin King Tournament/2nd Place (1990), Most Valuable Player (1990), International Champs P.A. vs NYC. Softball League (1990), Lehigh Valley Hispanic League 1st Place (1991), P.R. Caribbean Winter Baseball Division Champs (1996), Kings Athletic Organization (1996). He also enjoyed watching football and was so proud to see the EAGLES win the Superbowl. Later in life, he acquired a passion for golf. Raul is Predeceased by his loving parents; father Justo DeJesus and mother Cecila Rivera. He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his siblings Justo, Irma, and George; wife of 23 years Migdalia and his children; Leila (Ben), Alberto, Andrea, Marilyn (Brian), and Christian. Raul will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Alondra, Aiden, Jasmine, Christian Jr., Ava, Ella, and Charlee. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 28th, at 6:00pm - 8:00 PM at Palms West Funeral Home & Crematory, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, 33411, with a service beginning at 7:00 PM
