Ransford S. Smith passed away peacefully at home, August 30th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. An automobile technician by trade and agriculturalist by passion, he was 85 years young. Ransford, a devoted husband, father and grandfather is survived by his loving wife, six children and eight grandchildren. Born December 1935 in the parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, he was a faithful Christian and advocate for children. He emigrated to Canada in 1967 and later settled in America in 1994 calling Florida his new home. He took great pride in happily raising his children and actively participated in the care of his grandchildren. 'Smitty' dearly loved tilling the soil with his strong, weathered hands. His knowledge of herbal remedies and his ability to grow plants was a tribute to his direct ancestral lineage. He loved pick-up trucks and working on cars. There was no mechanical motor he could not fix. He loved the outdoors and took every opportunity to teach his grandchildren about nature and the importance of sustaining the Earth God has entrusted to humankind. He was educated in Jamaica, then completed his mechanics training at John Crook Automobiles Ltd. He was able to dismantle an entire motor and reassemble it in record time. He continued his educational pursuits in Toronto, Canada at Centennial College. It was very clear from a young age that Ransford was a man wise beyond his years. People from all walks of life would seek out his sage advice. He worshiped God with his words and his deeds. He served as a Deacon in his church for 10 years in Toronto and spread his faith and love for Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen. His happy and sincere disposition was infectious, just like his kilowatt smile. He will be remembered for his jokes and tongue twisting rhymes and riddles. We loved his incredible tales from his childhood. He was humble, but we could easily see his bravery in adversity. He had an impeccable work ethic and was selfless when giving to others. He lives on in the memories of his adoring wife, Fae Smith and Children: Collin Smith, Jackie George, David Smith, Tania Smith, Mark Smith and Darren Smith. His grandchildren: Daniel, Naomi, Elijah, Maya, Sierra, Alyssia, Caeden and Harlow. His brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends near and far. The family wishes to thank Jasmine Galloway for her tender care and Trustbridge Hospice of The Palm Beaches for their services.
