GREENACRES- Pietro "Peter" Plaia, 73, of Greenacres, formerly of Wellington, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Wellington Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2:00pm to 4:00pm and again at 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Palms West Funeral Home. Friends may call upon the family at either of the services on Monday. Funeral Mass will be held on March 5, 2019 at St. Therese de Lisieux Catholic Church in Wellington at 11:00am followed by his burial at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. Pietro was born in 1945 in the small town of Campo Reale, Sicily. Early in his life he learned to be a provider, dedicated to his family and loved ones. He served in the Italian Armed Forces as a young man. He eventually settled into the trade of Barbering and continued his legacy into his final days. Pietro was united in marriage to the love of his life Rosa Badalamenti on July 28, 1974 in Ridgewood, NY. He loved family, food and his precious garden that took him back to his youth in Sicily. Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Rosa; his daughter Anna (Randy) Noakes; his son Charlie (Cheri Coolidge-Plaia); two beautiful grandchildren, Ethan and Ashley; his sisters Anna and Gina and his beloved brother Sal; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving extended family members.
