Peter Granata, 88, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on February 21, 2023 following a short illness. He was surrounded by his children, with his wife Anne of 58 years awaiting their reunion in Heaven. His achievements include his Marine and Naval aviation career-serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He also had the honor of flying President Lyndon Johnson in the Marine One helicopter. He concluded his aviation career flying as a Captain for United Airlines. Peter had a passion for his family, Morgan horses, and flying. He is survived by his children: Ellen (Stan), Joseph (his fiancé Cherie), Laura, and Andrea, his five grandchildren: Neil (Marlena), Jill (Ryan), Alexandra (William), Daniel, and Peter. He also adored his eight great grandchildren: Landon, Liam, Logan, Lilly, Madelyn, Evan, Juliet, and Pierson, a sister Maria (George), and a sister in law Dorrie (Thom). Peter also had numerous family members, countless friends-especially Dorothy and Howard, and his beloved horse Gunner. His astounding legacy will continue to honor and preserve his memory. He will be greatly missed. We will have a memorial service for Peter at a later date.
