Evans, Peter G. Peter G. Evans, age 71 of Wellington, Florida passed away December 6th, 2016 after a brief illness. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Evans of Copake, New York and by his former wife Pat Evans of Wellington, a realtor with Illustrated Properties. He is predeceased by his father, Peter Evans of Allentown, Pa. and his mother, Ann Evans Orlovitz of Greenwich, Ct. Peter lived his childhood in Greenwich Ct., graduated from Greenwich High in 1963 then went on to study automotive at J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford. He then received an associates degree and returned to Wright Technical as an automotive instructor while also working as the service manager of Mohawk Chrysler Plymouth in Stamford for several years. Then he joined Pray Porsche Audi in Greenwich. Peter was the secretary of the Service Manager's Society and was well respected nationwide for his automotive knowledge. In the early 1970's he and Pat moved to West Haven, Ct. and he decided to open a sandwich shop because of his love for cooking. It was called Campbell Giant Grinders on Campbell Avenue and was the most successful sandwich shop in the entire town. They came from far and wide for his steak sub. He sold the sandwich shop and then decided to pursue decorating and started his wallpaper installation business. In September of 1981 Peter and Pat decided to leave the cold and move to West Palm Beach. In 1982 they built a house in Wellington and he continued with his decorating to become the most famous and sought after wallpaper installer in the Western Communities as well as helping clients on Singer Island and Palm Beach. His customers adored him and his "hands of gold". He retired in 2005 to enjoy his favorite past time of fishing with his Wellington friends. They fished in the Keys and chased after salmon in up state New York. He was much loved and will be missed by many. The memorial services will be held at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach on Sunday, December 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 on Monday at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, Crestwood Blvd, Royal Palm Beach. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery on Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach.
