Obituary Notice Peter M. Burt, 66, of Lighthouse Point died June 19th from complications following surgery. Peter was extremely proud of being a U.S. Marine and of his military service from 1961 to 1968. He served as a combat helicopter pilot in S. Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. Discharged as a Marine Captain, he lived in the Bahamas and owned an air charter business there until moving to Broward County in 1972. At various times, he operated an Angus ranch in Missouri, an off shore investment group, a yacht brokerage, a digital imaging business and a sports memorabilia shop. He loved baseball, fishing and all sports. Peter was active in military veterans organizations, especially the DAV and the Veterans Center in Lake Worth. He is survived by his son, Jordan D. Burt of Parkland, sister, Abbe Burt of Vinyard Haven, Mass, and nephew, Tyler Burt of Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., June 23rd at the South Florida Veterans Association National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth.
