Peggy S. Karrh

Peggy Sue Karrh, 62, passed away at her home in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, of heart failure on April 18, 2018. Visitation hours will be held at Palms West Funeral Home, Monday evening, April 23, 2018 between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Peggy's funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Beacon Baptist Church, 11616 Indiantown Road, Jupiter at 11:00 a.m. Peggy was born May 21, 1955 in Huntsville, Alabama to Wiley and Carolyn Karrh. She arrived in West Palm Beach at the age of three with her family on October 31st, 1959. She was a graduate of Jupiter Christian School, Palm Beach Community College and went on to complete her undergraduate degree and Master's degree in Nursing at Barry University. Throughout her collegiate career she maintained a 4.0 GPA while working full-time at Good Samaritan Hospital. Peggy became Director of the Good Samaritan's Emergency Department, and received the prestigious Nurse of the Year from the Palm Healthcare Foundation, as well as the Cobb Foundation's Palm Beach County Person of the Year in 2004. In 2008, Peggy accepted a position at West Palm Beach Hospital as Director of Emergency Services, Psych Admissions, and CV Cath Lab. In 2012 she was chosen as a state-wide Nursing Excellence Award winner. Peggy is survived by the love of her life and spouse Barbara Hodges, five brothers; Charles, Lewis, Robert, David, and James, one sister, Carol Debrowski, and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition, she leaves her beloved dogs McKinsey and Molly in the loving care of her partner Barbara. Her dedication to her family and her profession, and her genuine love of people and animals is hard to over-state, and will be impossible to replace.
