The families of the late Pearl Saunders are sadden to inform you that she died peacefully at home on Pentecost Sunday, May 28 @ 3:45 a.m. She was 83 years old. Dr. Saunders was born in Jamaica and came to the United States 60+ years ago as an international student to attend St. Louis University. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Ruth McLaren, husband, Roy Saunders, and son, Meldon Saunders. The home-going celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. David's In-The-Pines Episcopal Church. Dr. Saunders worked as an English professor both in the St. Louis Community College and the Lake Worth and Palm Beach Garden campuses. Dr. Saunders was a member of several organizations both locally and nationally. She has written several works which have been published locally and nationally. She is survived by her son, grandson, daughter-in-law, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, special students and relatives (on both sides of the families). In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pearl's favorite charity, St. Jude's.
