Paul F. Stanganelli "Tony" from Lake Worth, FL passed away suddenly at the age of 73 on September 27, 2024. Many knew him as "Tony." His dad's name was Paul. His military friends nicknamed him "Tony" and the name stuck. Tony was born in Rockville Centre, NY on August 3, 1951, to Paul and Concetta Stanganelli. He graduated from Mepham High School in 1970. He was drafted into service during Vietnam and served in the US Air force and later in the US Army, US Army Reserve, and the Florida National Guard. He was very proud of his military service spanning over 20 years. Tony retired in 2018 from the City of Delray Beach. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Paul, and is survived his beloved wife of 37 years, Terri, along with sons Patrick Stanganelli and Stephen Millich and mother, Concetta Stanganelli. Also, a huge part of his life was Tony's rescue dog, Molly, a dear high school friend, Rick Kern (Denise), Sisters-in-Law Laurie DiProspero (Joe), and Kelly Elward; nephews Tommy, Nick, and Josh; and many family members and long-time friends. Tony marched to his own drum. He was strong willed and stubborn. He was also generous, loyal, and brave. His heart was full and ready to love. His sense of humor sharp and contagious. Those who knew him, describe him as rough and tough on the outside, but a marshmallow on the inside. He was a content homebody and loved his nightly patio time with a glass of red wine, Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli in the background, with his wife by his side. A man's life is a moment in time with a hard beginning and an end. But beyond his life are ripples that continue throughout time. Those ripples truly define him, more than the earthly years. We see the ripples Tony leaves in the skilled hands of his son Patrick, in the warm smile and deep capacity to love in his wife, Terri; the connections and friendships in his son Stephen, the tenacity and strength of spirit in his 98-year-old mother, and the laughter from his loyal storytellers who will never let him be forgotten. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Tony and his family. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. (forgottensoldiers.org)
