Our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, Paul P. Siliato passed away peacefully on February 11, 2015. He was born in Riposto, a small fishing village on the eastern coast of Sicily. Although he spent only his early years there he had a wealth of tales about his childhood living in the shadow of the volcano Mt. Etna. He would often entertain us with his stories of how he and his brother would play near the lava flows on bicycles with wooden wheels. At nine years old he and his family immigrated to America. Despite the hardships of the times he quickly learned the English language and excelled in his education including graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School. He accomplished this while working to help support his immigrant family. He married our beautiful mother Jean, in December 1943 and they spent the next 72 years together. During that time he was the quintessential Dad to his two children Jo Anne and Paul who he leaves with wonderful memories of both childhood and adult life. His 28 year career with Polytech Institute of New York culminated with him becoming Supervisor of the Aerospace Lab. He was admired by his co workers for his knowledge, advanced technical skills and leadership. In his private and retired life he enjoyed oil painting, guitar playing and singing with the Coasters, a south Florida barbershop quartet. He excelled at everything he did and was a role model for his attention to detail. He will especially be remembered for his honesty, integrity and his dedication to always do the right thing. The family he cherished is saddened by his loss but comforted by the thought of the many happy times we spent together. He leaves behind his daughter Jo-Anne and her husband Gene Castro, his son Paul A. Siliato and his wife Lauren, his three grandchildren Andra Matera and husband Joe, Paul B. Siliato and wife Stephanie, and Debbie Semedo and husband Danny, great grandchildren Charles, Mia and Stefano, and sister Maria Inveninato, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Fl. 33411. General viewing from 11:30 am to 12:30pm. Services to follow immediately. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
