Paul Michael Knudsen, 65, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, where he had made his home for the past forty years, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, and raised in North Weymouth, Paul enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an airplane mechanic and composite instructor at FlightSafety. He possessed a lifelong passion for riding—whether mountain bikes, dirt bikes, or trials bikes—and loved to ride and race anything with wheels. A natural problem-solver, Paul could fix nearly anything; if he did not yet know how, he would learn, master the skill, and generously teach others. Friends and family turned to him for answers, support, and help, knowing he would never turn them away. He was always willing to lend a hand.
Paul and his wife Jeanne shared 45 beautiful years together as best friends and true partners. They did everything side by side, bound by a deep and enduring love. To Jeanne, Paul was her world. He taught her how to dig deep, embrace adventure, and live life to the fullest. Together they courageously battled multiple myeloma. With his characteristic humor, Paul would jokingly say that since they did everything together, including getting myeloma; they had received the “BOGO deal—buy one, get one free”. Since 2020, Paul has also battled Metastatic bladder cancer. Paul's love for our daughter, her husband and his three favorite grandchildren, who he adored, gave Paul a strong will to live and fight through the pain he endured in recent years. His entire family, notably his brother, his sisters-in-law, and his Bud's Buddy "Mom", all supported him in many ways. Paul also proudly served as a co-leader of the Palm Beach County Multiple Myeloma Support Group, where he empowered others with knowledge, encouragement, and hope.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Jeanne A. (Sheehan) Knudsen; his loving daughter, Stefanie A. (Mayer), and her husband Joey; his cherished grandchildren, Sofia, Amelia, and Blake; his brother, Steven H. Knudsen, and his wife Cynthia K. (Sheehan); his sister, Nancy Jane Johnson; his stepmother, Marion (Provost) Knudsen; his stepbrothers, Dennis and Michael Knudsen; and his stepsisters, Monique (Johnson) Thompson and Kim (Johnson) Moody. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy J. (Odlum) Johnson; his father, Roger Paul Knudsen; and his stepfather, Joseph L. Johnson. A memorial celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Friday, September 4, at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the service beginning promptly at 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched so many with his kindness, skill, humor, and unwavering spirit.
