Patricia Ann (Giddens) Todd, 76, known as Pat to friends and Patsy to family, left this world to be with her loving Heavenly Father on June 29, 2026 at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL.

Pat was born in 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to loving parents, the late James Giddens, Sr. and Leona Giddens.

She made her home in Chicago, IL until enlisting in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam, where she met and married her former husband, Robert Allen Todd, who preceded her in death in 2002.

After being honorably discharged from the USMC, Pat went back to Chicago to earn her bachelor's degree in Marketing at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), taking one class each quarter and raising a child on her own. At UIC, she also spent over 30 years in various finance roles, with her last role as a budget analyst for the UIC Medical Center.

After spending her first six years of retirement in Chicago, she moved to Greenacres, FL in 2011, where she spent her remaining years in sunshine.

Pat was known for her keen sense of fashion, her love of thrifting, dancing and music, and especially her deep love for the Lord, on whom she depended daily.

Pat is survived by her daughter Theresa Todd, her "miracle baby" whom she carried while battling cancer as a young newlywed, and who had the great honor of living in Florida with her for the past 11 years; siblings Janice Jones of Chicago, IL, James (Shirley) Giddens, Jr. of Okolona, MS, Lorraine Giddens-Smith of Greenacres, FL, and Jacqueline Giddens of Romeoville, IL; her sister by choice, sister-in-law Deborah Todd Kennedy of Naples, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

She also leaves behind dear friends, a cherished church family at Church In The Palms (including her Tuesday Night Bible study friends) and special neighbors at Buttonwood in Greenacres, FL.

Theresa wishes to thank the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit medical staff at JFK Hospital for their valiant efforts, as well as the chaplain, Reverend Rick, for literally holding her up during her mother's care there.

At the family's request there will be no funeral service; however, a memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 AM at Church In The Palms, 3812 Jog Rd, Greenacres, FL.

A later memorial service will be held in September 2026 in the Chicago area; further information to be shared here.

Pat will be laid to rest with military honors at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pat’s memory to the Benevolence Fund of Church In The Palms at www.churchinthepalms.com/give. Pat would want that money to help those in need of God’s provision. And to God be the glory.
