Patricia "Patty" Anne Hill, 87, of Wellington, FL, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Patty was born August 8, 1938, to Katherine S. (née Hoff) and Arthur C. Martin in Lexington, KY. The family moved to Baltimore, Maryland when she was a child. Patty was married to Nelson D. Gilbert in 1959. They raised four children and resided in Catonsville, Maryland. Patty and Nelson later moved to Carroll County, MD. In retirement, they moved to Florida and later, to West Virginia. Nelson predeceased her in 2007. Patty married Peter S. Hill in 2012 and later relocated to Mt. Dora, FL. Peter predeceased her in 2024. Soon thereafter, Patty moved to Wellington, FL to be near her daughter, Trixie. Patty graduated with a degree in English from the University of Maryland in 1960, and later earned her Nursing degree from the former Catonsville Community College in 1979. She was employed as a nurse at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore MD for nearly 20 years. Patty was an avid book reader and enjoyed knitting, sewing, choral music, bridge playing and spending her time in the West Virginia mountains. She was a Stephen Minister and served her church community in West Virginia. Patty was a member of Lutheran churches for most of her life until she and Peter joined St. Edward's Episcopal Church of Mt. Dora, FL. Patty is survived by her siblings David (Nancy)Martin and Joan (Rick)Turner; children Martha (Andy)Wentzel, Dan (Darlene) Gilbert, Sam (Victoria)Gilbert, and Trixie (Dave)Blouin; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A brother, Paul Martin predeceased her. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lisbet at Wellington Bay, and the team at Trustbridge Hospice for the care they gave to Patty this past year. A private family memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, Royal Palm Beach, FL.
