Patricia F. Carlson

February 25, 1949 — January 25, 2024

Patricia Louise Carlson passed away at the age of 74 in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 25, 2024. Affectionately called Pat by her family, she was born in Tokyo, Japan on February 25, 1949 to Mary Elsie Terry Fuhr and John Henry Fuhr III. On this day, she found herself to be the younger sibling (by 2 minutes) of identical twin girls. She grew up in a military family and moved to several Air Force bases around the world including London, England and Morocco, North Africa. In 1970, while at George AFB in Victorville, California, Pat earned her Associate of Art degree from Victor Valley Community College. Later she got a job on base at the Flight Line snack bar where she met the love of her life, Sgt. Raymond Harold Carlson. The two of them were married four months later on July 4, 1970 which was also her new husband's last day in the Air Force. The couple soon moved to Miami, Florida where Pat worked at an optical company. Then in 1973 they decided to move to Denton, Texas where Pat worked at the Denton County Sheriff's Office and later as a painter for Peterbilt Trucks. In 1989 they moved to Orlando, Florida where she worked at the Sheriff's office in the finger print lab. Finally in 2001 Pat and Ray decided to relocate to West Palm Beach, Florida. Here she proudly became a Correctional Officer for the state of Florida and later a Correctional Officer for the county of West Palm Beach. Pat leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond Harold Carlson. She is survived by her daughter Amanda Terry Parkhurst, her grandchildren Brent Waitman Parkhurst, Zaybriasha Almaiya Carlson and Zaiherre Ratavion Carlson, and her siblings John Henry Fuhr IV, her identical twin Kathryn Marie Fuhr Fretwell, Robert Louis Fuhr, and Mary Ann Morgan. She is preceded in death by her daughter Anna Marie Desiree Carlson, her mother Mary Elsie Terry Fuhr, her father John Henry Fuhr III and her brother James Lawrence Fuhr. The family is requesting any donations be made to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Explorer Program.
