Palma Scelfo, age 92 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She was born on January 8, 1932 in Alimena, Sicily to Pietro Forello and Mary (Federico) Forello. In 1947 she immigrated to New York City and married Sam Scelfo on February 25, 1950. She worked as a Singer sewing machine operator in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. In March 1963 she opened Villa Palma restaurant with her husband. Palma and Sam Scelfo moved to Marlboro, New York in 1984 and retired in Wellington, Florida in 1995. Palma had a passion for entertaining and loved to host family events and dinners. Palma was especially proud of her Italian heritage and was known for preparing family favorites including chicken cutlets and chocolate pudding. Palma was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Scelfo; her father, Pietro Forello; her mother, Mary Forello; her sisters, Antionette Indelicato and Josephine LoBello. She is survived by her daughters, Maria Scelfo and Gloria Scelfo (Greg Ott); her granddaughters, Shannon Makowski and Kate Makowski (Michel Dinolfo); and great-grandsons, Luca Dinolfo and Logan Dinolfo. A wake will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Palms West Funeral Home 110 Business Parkway Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. A mass will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Rita's Church 13645 Paddock Drive Wellington, FL 33414 followed by interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace 1941 Southern Boulevard Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity or Alzheimer's Foundation in lieu of flowers.
