Orville R Brown

September 4, 1957 — January 13, 2023

Life is a gift from God. This great gift was given on September 4th, 1957, in Somerton, St. James, Jamaica to Daphne Smith and Lunsford Brown. He was the second son for his mother and was referred to as Ricky as his given name was Orville Ricardo Brown, but also answered to Orville, Uncle Ricky, and Mr. Brown. His birth was truly a gift from God because he was the patriarch of the family. Orville started his early years at Somerton Primary School and later moved on to St. James High School formerly, Montego Bay Technical where he learned the air condition and refrigeration trade. He had always set out to be an entrepreneur and excelled in doing so when he started his business, Airtech Refrigeration. He was an ardent lover of sports especially track and field and football. He also enjoyed bird hunting with his friends, loved to travel as well as go eating at his favorite restaurant in Montego Bay. He had a passion for helping others and would willingly assist them in whatever way he could. If he had the power to eliminate poverty, that is exactly what he would have done. His love for life and peace was beyond words, he was an angel among us. Orville confessed his love for Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was an active member of his church, First Church of the Open Bible located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He was truly a God-fearing man of faith, a warmhearted husband, a loving brother, an amazing father to his four children and many others, a family man by nature, a wonderful uncle, a dear friend to many and always had a word of encouragement for others. Orville transitioned from this life on Friday, January 13, 2023, after almost 20 years of battle with kidney disease. He is survived by his wife, Shaun Brown; children, Kiel, Arielle, Matthew, and Kimberley; granddaughter, Amelia; a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, loved ones and dear friends. We thank you for joining us in celebrating his life today. He will truly be missed, but the memory of his years of life with us on this earth though brief, is forever embedded in our hearts. He now rests eternally in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
