Ms. Norma Jean Duncan, the daughter of John Duncan and Gladys Richardson, was born on February 5, 1945, in Hopkinsville Kentucky. Norma received her elementary education in the Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High school in Indianapolis Indiana in 1963. Shortly after graduating she moved to Chicago, Illinois and was employed by Equifax. She attended Chicago City College and the Art Institute of Chicago. While living in Chicago she was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis Indiana, Rev. Brown, pastor; she also attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. Norma was transferred to Florida as a Mortgage Loan Supervisor. After fifteen years of service, she felt it was time to move on. Norma pursued a new career at Palm Beach County Purchasing Department where she retired. Norma also worked as a service representative for Adelphia Cable for several years. Norma attended Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University and received a Bachelor's degree in Business from University of Phoenix. She was a member of the Poets of the Palm Beaches where she had several of her own poems published in magazines. Norma was also a member of Palm Beach Toastmasters. She loved the arts and literature as well as painting. Norma was adventures, inquisitive, and loved learning new things. Norma was an active member of Florida Gardens Baptist Church, Pastor David Janaro. As a servant of God, Norma was active in women's bible study, visiting nursing homes, reading to the residents, and helping people in need. Ms. Norma J. Duncan passed away after a brief illness on February 10, 2024, at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her mother Gladys Richardson. She is survived by her Uncle Tandy Richardson (Indianapolis IN.), Cousins Wayne Majors (Indianapolis IN.) Debra Quick (Indianapolis IN.) Brenda Bennett (Dover, Delaware). God children Renis & Whitney Olriedge (West Palm Beach, FL). Special friends Cynthia Olriedge (West Palm Beach, FL), Vernetha Green (Lake Worth, FL) and a host of cousins, friends and church family.
