Norbert Hiller, 91, passed away in Wellington, Florida on October 15th. He was born February 25, 1931, in Ziegelrode, Germany to the late Alfred and Martha Hiller. Norbert is survived by his wife, Gunde, of 57 years, his daughter, Bianca, son-in-law, Matt, and grandchildren, Bella and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole, and his sister, Edith. He was known to all as Norbert, Dad, Papa and Opa. Norbert was raised in Germany and at a young age his adventurous spirit took him to Canada. He eventually left Canada and split his time between the United States and Germany. Norbert met his wife, Gunde, in Germany and soon brought her over on the Hanseatic to the United States. Norbert lived and worked in various states including Hawaii, West Virginia and Florida as well as the German town of Bad-Orb. He along with Gunde and their two daughters became US citizens in 1986. Norbert was in the hospitality industry for his entire career and held various positions including general manager at the Country Club of Florida before transitioning into retirement. Norbert loved to spend time with family and friends both in the United States and Germany. He had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed telling stories from his many adventures and travels. He loved to cook and enjoyed having friends over for dinner. A celebration of life was held in Norberts' honor with his family and close friends. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
