Nicholas Orlando Torino, 86 passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. Nick was born June 19, 1933 in Carbondale, PA. He moved to New York at the age of 14. Shortly after marriage, he moved to Staten Island, NY in 1965, where they lived until relocating to South Florida with his wife in 2004, where they enjoyed retirement together. Nick served in the U.S. military as a Private E1, with an honorable discharge and decorated with a medal of good conduct. He met his beautiful bride and wife of 60 years, Dorothea Rose Passanante, who he met while serving during the Korean conflict and they were later married in Queens, New York. Nick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go fishing, birdwatching, and later helping his sons with their home renovations. He loved to watch baseball, especially his favorite team the New York Yankees. Nick is survived by his wife, Dorothea. He also has four sons, Nicholas, Dino and his wife Kari, Andrew, Robert and his wife Claudine. Nick also has eight grandchildren, Dean Jr., Christopher and Coddy, Brianna and Tory, Robert Jr., Gianna, and Matthew. There are also five great grandchildren, Logan, Christopher and Adrianna, Milia and Mason. Nick was the second of four boys. He is survived by his brother Sal, and has numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Palms West Funeral Home 110 Business Park Way Royal Palm Beach, Fl 33411. The family will greet friends during the hours of 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and later from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. An 11:00 am church service will be held, Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Rita's 13645 Paddock Drive, Wellington, Fl. 33414. Following the church service, the family will host a celebration of life at the Village Walk Town Center located at 2500 Village Walk Circle, Wellington, Fl 33414. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association who save lives from heart disease and stroke. Any donation can be made by calling 1-800-242-8721.
