Nelly Maria Mariani

Nelly Maria Mariani (Del Aguila) was a caring and selfless wife, mother, yaya, sister, and friend loved by so many. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in the early morning hours on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the age of 63. Nelly was born in Lima, Peru, on April 2, 1958, to Alejandro and Nelly Del Aguila and immigrated to New York at the age of 3. She grew up on Long Island where she met Robert Mariani in the summer of 1975. They married on July 8, 1978, and had four amazing children. Eventually they relocated to Wellington, Florida, and established deep roots within the community. The family grew, and she became the proud yaya of five grandchildren, with the hope of more to come. Nelly thoroughly enjoyed her line of work where she was able to help people from all walks of life. She loved spending time with her family, laughing, playing cards, and reminiscing for hours. One of Nelly's proudest achievements was becoming an United States citizen. She was also very active within the church community, serving as the secretary for the Catholic Council of Women (CCW). Nelly is survived by her loving husband and best friend Robert Mariani; four children - Melissa (Brad) Moree, Robert (Jamie) Mariani, Kristen Mariani, Maryelizabeth Mariani; five grandchildren - Emily, Angelina, Isabella, Jason, Alexa, and granddogs; beloved sisters Cecilia Del Aguila, the late Sylvia Allen, Connie (Paul) Musachio, Katherine (the late William Rihm) (Robert Vitale) Rihm and brother-in-law Gerald (Therese) Mariani; and many nieces and nephews. All because two people fell in love. Rest in peace, Mummy. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington.
