Nancy Jacobs Jackson, 82, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away on June 28, 2026, after a long illness. Born in Torrington, Connecticut, to the late Frank A. Jacobs, Sr. and Nancy A. (Guy) Jacobs, Nancy lived with grace, determination, and a quiet strength that defined her life.

A graduate of Torrington High School, Nancy carried her Connecticut roots throughout her life. In 1965, she married Gordon M. Jackson, and together they welcomed two beloved children, Tonya and Craig. In 1977, the family moved from Windsor, Connecticut, to Texas, making their home first in Richardson and later Garland.

As a young woman, Nancy studied music for 13 years and became an accomplished pianist. She also modeled for local retail stores in Torrington, reflecting the poise, elegance, and natural style so many admired. Her love of bright colors inspired her gifts for fashion and interior design. She was kind, beautiful, poised, graceful, and intelligent, with a refined eye for creating warmth and beauty around her.

At home and on the road, Nancy often filled the air with classical music, smooth jazz, and R&B. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and, before her serious illness, traveling with friends and family.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and gifted with numbers, Nancy held administrative positions with the City of Hartford Board of Education before moving to Texas, where she worked primarily in the financial sector. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Later, Nancy served the City of Delray Beach for 17 years in Community Redevelopment and Human Resources. She became an accredited Public Personnel Professional through the Florida Public Personnel Association, Inc., and was a former member of the National Society for Human Resource Management and the Palm Beach County HR Association. She also volunteered with the Palm Beach County Democratic Party during the 2008 and 2012 Obama-Biden campaigns, contributing with the same commitment and care she brought to every endeavor.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon M. Jackson (“Jackie”); her son, Craig G. Jackson; and her brothers, Frank A. Jacobs, Jr. and Guy B. Jacobs.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tonya, along with a host of family and friends who will remember Nancy for her elegance, warmth, intelligence, and enduring love.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, who loved her wholeheartedly and cared for her at home for the last 13 years. That devotion remains a beautiful reflection of their bond and the love that surrounded Nancy throughout her final chapter.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Palms West Funeral Home & Crematory in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
