Mildred E. Hill Services for Mildred E. Ogden Hill, 93, who passed away February 22, 2014, in Wellington, Florida will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Westminster United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hill was born June 6, 1920, in Mount Ayr, Iowa but lived most of her life in Des Moines. She attended Nash School and graduated from North High in 1937, afterward attending Four C's college. Mrs. Hill began work at Adel Clay Brick and Tile in June of 1938, where she met her husband the late Lester Hill. She retired after 42 years with what became Can-Tex/Harsco. Mrs. Hill lived in Des Moines until 2008 when she moved to Florida to be with family. Mrs. Hill was a 50+ year member of Westminster Church where she was involved with the Presbyterian Women's Club, served lunches, made casseroles for the homeless, volunteered with the youth group and was a familiar sight at the church for many years. She was also a longtime member of Quota Club. Survivors include her daughter Kathryn Leonard of Wellington, FL, granddaughters Erin Farrell (Mrs. Richard) of Wellington, and Jennifer Bozman (Mrs. Rusty) of St. Augustine, FL and three great grandchildren; Cassidy, James, and Olivia. Visitation will be held at Westover Funeral Home 6337 Hickman Road Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday. Funeral Services will be Saturday at Westminster. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Westminster United Presbyterian Church 4114 Allison Avenue, Des Moines.
