Mildred Santiago Hernandez

October 24, 1963 — August 27, 2024

Mildred Santiago Hernandez was born in Miami Jackson Hospital in Miami, FL to Casilda and Celedonio Santiago. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and cherished family member, who left us on August 27th after a courageous battle with stage 4 metastatic uterine cancer, which had spread to her lungs, brain, and body. Born on October 24th, 1963, Mildred lived a life marked by faith, love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the glue to our family, a guiding light and a source of inspiration, known for her kindness, grace, and indomitable spirit. As a mother, she was the definition of a SUPERWOMAN, nurtured her children with boundless affection and wisdom, and as a grandmother, she brought immeasurable joy and warmth to her grandchildren's lives. Her resilience in the face of illness was a testament to her extraordinary character. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained a pillar of strength for her loved ones, always putting their needs above her own. Her courage and grace during her illness were truly remarkable, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Mildred will continue to live through the love of her devoted husband (Felix Hernandez), her children (Luis, Lynette, and Melissa), her grandchildren (Armani, Ivan, Aniyah, Elijah, and Angel), and the big circle of family and friends who were all dearly loved and touched by her kindness and generosity. A memorial service will be held on August 31 at 5 pm, at Palms West Funeral Home, where we will gather to celebrate her life and cherish the memories we all shared. Though we grieve her loss, we find solace in the lasting impact she made on our lives and the love she shared with all of us. Now we celebrate her memory as she dances above us with her mother, sister, and brothers, protecting and watching over us as she always did. Her spirit will live on in the countless ways she touched our hearts. "For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love." - Lamentations 3:31-32
