Miguel Alejandro Gomez

Miguel "Mikee" Gomez passed peacefully on Monday, March 17th 2014 at Wellington Regional Hospital after enduring a grueling 7 month battle against stomach cancer. He passed surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born November 9th 1991 in Caracas, Venezuela, the son of Oswald and Lya Gomez. Mikee was a graduate of Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington, FL and was working towards his bachelor's degree at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. He also worked full time as a dedicated assistant manager at Chipotle Mexican Grill in Wellington. Mikee excelled in the sport that he loved most-soccer. He played at the highest level of competition trying out for teams like Caracas FC in Caracas, Venezuela and highly ranked local travel teams like West Pines United, playing against third divsion team Manchester City in England and Wellington Wave Soccer Club, playing against Club Brugge K.V. youth division in Belgian. He loved spending time with his family including his brother Ozzie, sister Maryana, and his German Shepard "Frankie". Mikee was a courageous, loving and generous person. His selflessness was unparalleled and he touched everyone he ever came in contact with. His smile and lighthearted humor brought happiness to the people around him and that unwavering positivity was a blessing to all. He was a magnificent son, brother and friend and it's an understatement to say that he will be missed by all. "
