Michael Rocco Arena passed away unexpectedly on November 3rd, 2025 at the age of 59. He was surrounded by loving family and friends, including three children and beautiful wife. Michael was born in the Bronx, New York City. He moved to Miami, Florida in 1974. He graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School in 1984. Shortly after graduating he attended fire school and joined Palm Beach Fire Rescue in 1986. He was a devoted servant of his community and worked his way up to District Chief. After serving for 31 years Mike retired from PBCFR in 2017. Then, he immediately joined PBCFR reserve/volunteer battalion to continue his service to his community. Michael continued to find ways to expand his servitude and joined the United States Coast Guard in 1985. His military career spanned over two decades. He retired as an O3, Lieutenant. Michael also served on the Village of Wellington Safety Counsel. Michael met his beautiful wife in 1989 at Publix. They tied the knot on August 10th, 1991 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Boynton Beach. They have three beautiful children together (31, 29, and 24) and are expecting their first grandchild in January 2026. In Michael's free time he particularly loved playing golf and spending time with his community. Despite finding every possible way to serve his community, Michael never missed a beat with his family. He was known for never forgetting a special occasion, birthday or anniversary for even his most extended family and friends. Michael was a devout catholic and worshipped at St. Therese de Lisieux. He even found ways to serve his church community as a member of the financial counsel. As Michael's final act on earth, he chose to continue to serve in the most selfless way. He gave the gift of life through organ donation. Aside from being a true servant and leader his children recall him as hilarious. He was truly a joy to be around. He always cared for us and kept us safe but more importantly, he kept us laughing. He will be missed forever. May his memory forever be a blessing. In lieu of flowers, the Arena family would request contributions in Michael's honor made to Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach https://habitatgreaterpbc.org/ or Tunnel to Towers https://t2t.org/
