Melissa Hamann died peacefully at Palms West Hospital on August 12, 2013 at the age of 44, after a brief illness. Melissa, or Mitzi as she was fondly called, was born on April 25, 1969 in Dover, NJ to parents Jerry and Mary LaPointe. The youngest of 3 children, she has a brother, Mark LaPointe and sister, Suzanne O'Reilly. She married John Hamann on December 15th, 1990. They have two children, Chad Hamann and Autumn Hamann. They reside in Loxahatchee, FL, where she was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, entertaining and volunteering in her community. Her heart had no limits for her family and friends, and her door was always open to all. She was kind, caring and compassionate and possessed a heart of gold. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16 from 6pm-10pm at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm, FL. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 11am, at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington FL. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Hamann Home at 3pm. All friends and family are welcome, as she always loved to fill her home.
