Meliana Beaufils

Meliana Vendredi Beaufils was born on the 11th of April 1930 in Vieux-Bourg-d'Aquin, Haiti and transitioned on the 24th of September 2021, due to natural causes. She has gifted us with 91 long years of love, legacy and experiences that will continue to prosper in the family that has survived her. Meliana is survived by her five children, Thomas Famil, Maguena, Yvena, Yvette, Wilfrid, their spouses, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Meliana was preceded in death by her husband, Normil Beaufils, as well as two of her children, Revener and Symene. Meliana's personality served as the perfect counterpoint to those of her husband Normil. His stoic and quiet nature was firmly contrasted by Meliana's ability to have a room echoing with endless conversation and laughter. Until Meliana told a story it had not yet been told. How many times can you remember an event that only became funny or memorable because Meliana retold it and added her colorful metaphors to it. You knew what you were in store for after the "uh-huh". Meliana was a steward of her family as well as a business woman. She loved her early morning travels to the mache to sell her goods and to converse with the people there. In everything Meliana did and loved, people and family were at the center of it. The time comes for all of us when there are more days we've left behind than lie ahead. Think of how much Meliana has given you and the legacy you'll foster in turn.
