Maxine Gerwig Edwards

Maxine Gerwig Edwards, 95, died peacefully after a brief illness at Trustbridge Hospice Rivera Beach on April 27, 2026. She was born in Ashland, Ohio to parents Emery Lloyd and Ersie Marie Stout Gerwig on July 30, 1930. After graduating from Ashland High School the family moved to Zellwood, Florida where she met and married William Graham Edwards from Apopka, Florida in 1954. They went on to have 3 children, Corinne Marie Harvey(Bill), William G. II(Patti), and James Stuart Edwards. Maxine was a homemaker until age 50 when she decided to go onto real estate and worked the next 30 years with Century 21, Joe Fearnley Real Estate and Atlantis Realty. She loved to needle point, play bridge, was an avid reader, and loyal fan of Fox TV. She and her husband, Bill, built a home in Atlantis in 1967 and she was a member of the Atlantis Alphas and was the Supervisor of Elections in Atlantis for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Ersie, her husband, Bill, and her brother, Jack Gerwig. She leaves behind her children, Corinne Harvey and son in law Bill, son William G. Edwards II and daughter in law Patti and son James Stuart Edwards. Grandchildren, Victoria Hirsch(Jeff), William Edwards Harvey(Kali), Ashley Harvey and fiancé Matt Coombs, Sherese Dunn (Rob) - Great grandchildren Ava, Mason, and Cole Hirsch, Parker Harvey, Emma Coombs, Aspen Dunn, and another great grandchild (Ashley/Matt) on the way. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loyal friend to many. She will be so very much missed by her family and all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace til we see her again.
