Maxie R. Lowery

Maxie Ray Lowery, age 68, went before the Lord after a brief illness with cancer on May 16, 2014 at his home in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Born on September 11, 1945 in Chesterfield, SC; he was age 2 when his family moved to New Haven, CT. Maxie graduated from James Hillhouse High School in 1963, and joined the Nation of Islam. Maxie worked as a Machinist for Entoleter, Inc. and joined Union Local 299 where he held concurrent positions as Union President, Chief Steward, and Steward. Maxie retired after 34 years of service relocating to Royal Palm Beach, FL. He was survived by his wife of 49 years Judith Lowery and his mother, Mary Lowery, both of Royal Palm Beach, FL; two daughters, Allisha Cassidy, of Wake Forest, NC and Shaquanna Lowery, of Royal Palm Beach, FL; two son-in-laws, Jerry Cassidy of Wake Forest, NC and Lamont Fyne, of Royal Palm Beach, FL; a sister, Margaret Cuthbertson; and a brother-in-law, Willie Cuthbertson, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Jade Childs, Jordyn Cassidy, Wake Forest, NC and Kayla Cassidy of Indianapolis, IN, Niajah Forbes, Sean, Destiny, Sa'Niah Maxine, & Elijah Lowery- Fyne, of Royal Palm Beach, FL. Nephews, Marcus & Kosey Cuthertson, Charlotte, NC. His loving Aunts and Uncles, G.W & Lila Sellers, Charlotte, NC. Jean & Shirley McFarlane, Virginia; Louise & James Reddings, Cheraw, SC; Ore McBride, Ohio; Viola Nelson, New Haven, CT and Mary Bernadette, Meridan, CT. Adoring close cousins, Wanda & "PoP " Outing, Kenneth Streater, and James Bryant, all of New Haven, CT as well as a host of many more cousins and friends. Maxie was predeceased by his father Mathew Lowery; grandmother, Ann B Sellers ; a brother, Mackie Ray Lowery, aunts, Ann Lowery, Letha Sellers and his younger uncle raised as brothers, William "Hook" Sellers.
