Matthew John Scott of Royal Palm Beach, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Miami, Florida. He was born on December 21, 1965, in Pontiac, Michigan to James Scott and Alice (Jokinen) Scott. He graduated from McCullough High School in Woodlands, Texas in 1984. Matt served in the United States Army from 1984 to 1988 in the 101st Airborne Division. He was stationed in Korea with the Air Assault First Cavalry at the DMZ. After military service he attended classes at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Matt attended Christ Fellowship Church in Royal Palm Beach. He is survived by his parents, sister Heather (Scott) Izatt and husband Ken, and nieces Jayne and Annie Izaat. He was an inspiration to many people as he battled Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for many years. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A visitation will be held at Palms West Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial with military honors at South Florida National Cemetery will follow the service. Family and friends are invited to gather the GOLDEN CORRAL from 3:30-5:30 pm 10100 Fox Trail Rd S, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 Everyone is responsible for paying for their own food and gratuity.
