Mary Teresa Russell

Mary T Russell, 89, of Wellington Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Edward J Russell; her brother, James "Jimmy" Coll and her parents James and Mary Coll. Mary was born in Brooklyn NY and grew up in the Bronx & Yonkers until she married and moved to Rockland County, NY where she raised her family. She was a woman trail-blazer for New York Telephone Company retiring in an executive capacity in 1988 after 40 devoted years. Soon thereafter, she and her husband moved to St Lucie County, FL to enjoy retirement. In retirement she volunteered with the St Lucie County Sheriff's Department and worked as a Guardian ad Litem. She was an exceedingly proud Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Mary's greatest joy was spending time with family, most especially her only granddaughter Grace Elizabeth. She had an infectious sense of humor and loved to joke that "She used to be somebody." Those who knew her, knew that she was and would always be far more than "somebody". Her constant glass-half-full, selfless and generous spirit will live on in the lives of all she touched. Mary leaves the following beloved family to cherish her memories: Victoria Russell (daughter), Kevin Russell (son), Maureen Russell (daughter), Grace Goebel (granddaughter), Shaun Russell (grandson), Ryan Russell (grandson), Colin Russell (grandson), Patricia Gabel (sister), Jon Paul Gabel (nephew), Jennifer Gabel (niece), and Christopher Gabel (nephew). Love you more… A celebration of Mary's beautiful life will be planned in the near future.
