Mary L. Roll (nee Post) passed away peacefully on Apr 26, 2026. Mary was born on Dec 26, 1940, in Boston, MA to Joseph and Elizabeth Post. The 8th of ten children, she spent the first half of her life in New England, where she grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and started one of her own. She then moved to Florida in 1980 with her daughter Melanie, met her future husband Don Roll, and lived “happily ever after”!
Mary and Don built a wonderful life together, starting and operating a successful business, designing and sharing a beautiful home, and raising a blended family. Mary was always active in her community. She was a member and president of the local Zonta organization. Mary was an active parishioner of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church along with her husband Don, where she served as an usher, greeter and extraordinary minister.
Mary traveled extensively both in the USA and abroad with many family members & friends. Mary was an avid reader and art collector; she had a distinctly unassuming appreciation of nice things… She was also a keen card player.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of more than 40 years, Don, her son Bud and his wife Jeannie, daughter Melanie and her husband Mike, son Mike and his wife Debra, and son Dave and his wife Stephanie. She was blessed with three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by 5 of her siblings, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mary was a beautiful person; she lived a full life and will be remembered for her loving and generous spirit. Mary will be missed but not forgotten and will live on in all of us who were blessed to know and love her.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 29, at Palms West Funeral Home, Royal Palm Beach, from 4 – 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 30, at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, Royal Palm Beach at 2 PM. An interment service will follow at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery. In addition, a family service and celebration of life is being planned for Mary in North Reading, MA for late May early June.
Donations in Mary’s name may be made to St Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
