Mary A. Ewing of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2011. She was born in Miami, Florida on September 3, 1927. After moving to West Palm Beach, she met and married her husband James H. Ewing. They opened Modern Optical Service in downtown West Palm Beach in 1959 and operated it until Jim's death in 1977. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved get-togethers and special occasion gatherings. Her gentle spirit and compassion for others exemplified the true lady that she was. Her joke telling, however, did leave a lot to be desired. (LOL) She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by her son Bobby Ewing and his wife Billie Jean; daughter-in-law Carla Ewing; sister Helen Hardy; brother Lewis Turner and his wife Roxie; sister-in-law Patricia Hose and her husband Tink; nephew Gary Alexander and his wife Laura. The loves of her life include grandchildren J.R. Ewing and his wife Leann, Taylor Ewing, Macartney Ewing and Remington Ewing. Her two terrific great-grandsons James Cody Ewing and David Ewing. Also special friends the Charlie and Crystal Anderson family, Angie Garcia, Denise Delaney, Neilly Toler, Deb Harding, Paulette Brown, Miss Becky Spees and a host of family and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband James H. Ewing; her son James T "Jimmy" Ewing and her precious grandaughter Lindsay Erin Ewing.
