Mary Elizabeth Bishop (Cookie) 1934 - 2021. The lord called her home in a peaceful manner at the Palm Beach Hospice on Sunday March 21, 2021 in her 86th year. Mary was born in New York on April 7, 1934. This loving, caring, independent, feisty, and dedicated women has left a permanent mark on all the people who got to know her. Mary met the love of her life Peter Bishop at age 16 and had a wonderful, exciting, and adventurous marriage for 67 years. They raised 5 children: Barbara, Peter, Denise, Patty, and Donna. In 1993 Mary and Peter relocated to Royal Palm Beach where she lived and became active in her church, Our Lady Queen of the Apostle. She was a Eucharistic minister and mass secretary. She held several positions with the Columbiettes and the Christ Child Society. There was never a job to large or to small that she would not tackle. Mary was an avid bowler up until the age of 84. She also loved to read, do the Palm Beach Post crossword puzzles every morning while having her coffee. Come 1 o'clock every afternoon she loved to relax and watch her soap operas. Mary was also a wonderful, fun, and caring grandmother and great-grandmother who took on names like nanny and nana. She has a total of 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Family was the essence of Mary's life. She was proud and honored to be the queen, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to our large family. She has been an everlasting presence in the life of her children and grandchildren. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is in heaven watching over us. Viewing for Mary will take place at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, Florida, 33411 on Wednesday March 24, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles, 100 Crestwood Blvd. S, Royal Palm Beach, Florida, 33411 on Thursday March 25, 2021 at 10am.
