Mary Albanese

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, aunt, and friend, Mary (Mouyios) Albanese, 87, of West Palm Beach, Florida, who passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, with her family by her side.

Mary was born in a small city in upstate New York. She was the second daughter of Harry and Matina Mouyios. Mary graduated from Gloversville High School and went on to attend Albany Business College in upstate New York, where she studied business practice and administration. On November 8th, 1964, she married her best friend and soul mate, Carl Albanese. In 1966, their first and only child, Maria Albanese, was born. The family resided in upstate New York until eventually moving to South Florida in 1986. After moving to South Florida, Mary spent nearly forty years working as an office manager for a local medical practice.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She loved being with family and relished in the company of others. She had an instinctual love of fashion and always prided herself on elegant style. She especially loved meeting people and making friends wherever she went. She enjoyed music and could spend hours just listening to her favorite artists. She was fun-loving, super friendly, and known for her great sense of humor. To know her was to love her. Her absence will leave a void in the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband (Carl), her mother and father (Harry and Matina), and her sister (Esther Sorento). She is survived by her only daughter, Attorney Maria Albanese (Mary Fitzgerald), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be directed to Saint Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
