Martha D Watkins

Mardi Watkins, 78, of Wellington, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 19,2023 at Palms West Hospital. Mardi was born in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Homer Dallas Davis and Eunice Shannon Davis, both deceased. Mardi was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and received a bachelor's degree in education from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She was a long-time elementary school teacher for the School District of Palm Beach County, where she poured her heart and passion into her students' education and enjoyed seeing her students succeed. Mardi was truly an embodiment of the fruit of the Spirit; she loved her family and friends dearly and was incredibly gracious and kind. There wasn't a single person who met her who didn't love her from the start. Her heart and goodness shined for the world to see. She was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and never lacked for a good word to say about anyone. Mardi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike, and is survived by her daughters Shannon (Chad) Gardner, Staci (Jamie) Baker, her adored granddaughter Kyleigh, brother Shannon Davis, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. David's in the Pines Episcopal Church, 465 Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington, Florida 33414.
