Marie-Lourdes Castor

April 9, 1950 — June 19, 2025

In Loving Memory of Marie-Lourdes Castor April 9, 1950 – June 19, 2025 With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Marie-Lourdes Castor—wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and proud Haitian. A devoted mother of three and loving grandmother to six, Marie-Lourdes transitioned while surrounded by those who loved her the most on June 19th. Born on April 9th, 1950, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Larrieux Dougé and Lisa Leriche, Marie-Lourdes was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength. Raised in Haiti, Marie-Lourdes studied at l'École Nationale des Infirmières de Port-au-Prince, where she pursued her calling in nursing. After moving to the United States, she went on to serve as a registered nurse in Chicago for more than 20 years. To know Marie-Lourdes was to feel cared for. Her warmth lived in her radiant smile, her contagious laugh, and her unwavering belief in putting others first. Though soft-spoken, she was a force—resilient, kind, and always thinking of others. She found joy in tending to her garden, sewing pillows for loved ones, and her HGTV-inspired home renovations. But her greatest joy was her people—her immediate family, her extended family, and her friends whom she treated and loved like family. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Renes Castor; her children, Patrick Castor, Patricia Castor (Rutherford), and Rony Castor; her six grandchildren; her siblings Yves Dougé, Briere Dougé, and Carole Deluxe; and her village of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she adored. A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 AM at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. For those unable to attend, flowers and tributes may be sent to Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory in Royal Palm Beach, FL. The Castor family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Marie-Lourdes loved you all so very deeply. She will be missed; however, her memory lives in us all.
