On the morning of July 25, 2019, Marie Grace [Gagliano] Federici, age 89, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, peacefully went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of the borough of Brooklyn, New York, Marie Grace was born on June 15, 1930 to the late Gaetano Guiseppe and Lucia Gaetana Lorenza [Auricella] Gagliano. Along with her parents, Marie (affectionately known as Grace) is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Raymond Federici, two brothers Joseph Anthony and Vincent Joseph Gagliano, a sister, Teresa Marie [Tringali/Halko], and a grandson, Christian Federici. A prototypical 1950's housewife, Marie Grace went to school to get a degree in education after the early death of her beloved husband. She had a long and successful career at Shaw Avenue Elementary School in Valley Stream, New York. She was also very active in her church, Blessed Sacrament Church, where she sang in the choir. In later years, after moving to Florida, she became active in her new church, Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Royal Palm Beach. There she volunteered to work at the gift shop, was former vice president of the Council of Catholic Women, and was an active rosary maker. She also volunteered at Grandma's Place in Royal Palm Beach, an emergency shelter for children. Among those carrying on her wonderful memory are her three children, Richard Francis Federici [wife Elaine Rosanne], Ronald Edward Federici [wife Catherine Marie] and Kathryn Ann Herman [husband Alan Jay Herman]; 17 grandchildren Jesse Francis [wife Michelle Lynn], Adam Domenick [wife Jessica Ruth], Christopher Richard [wife Sanaa], Miriam Therese Mitchell [husband Jacob], Elizabeth Lucia, Olivia Yvonne, Daniel Joseph, Isabella Catarina, Michael Andre, Sophia Rosamaria Federici, Sarah Catherine Klein [husband Richard], Maria Francis Callahan [husband Breene], Frank Ronald, Joseph Michael Federici, Samuel Nathan, Francesca Grace, and David Jacob Herman; 10 great grandchildren Victoria Rain, Bianca Luciana, Tobias Gaetano, Vincent Virgil, Liam Alexander, Andre Joseph, Dominic Josiah, Matthew David, Zoey Grace, and Dylan George; and one brother, Angelo Vincent Gagliano. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. Her beloved rescue cat, Max, was by her side for the past 9 years and watched many New York Mets games with her. Our mother, Marie Grace, was strong, generous, independent, never complained, and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She had a fierce love for her family and Jesus. She is now at peace in His care for eternity. She truly was "Amazing Grace." Anyone who knew her was touched by only kindness. She will be missed every minute of every day. Marie Grace's family would like to extend special thanks to the angel nurses and staff at Trustbridge Hospice. They are truly doing God's work every day. A wake service will take place at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411 on Saturday July 27, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 pm. Marie Grace and her family will then travel to New York. A wake service to honor Marie Grace's life will take place at Moore Funeral Home, 54 W. Jamaica Avenue, Valley Stream, New York 11580 on Tuesday July 30, 2019. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 201 N. Central Avenue, Valley Stream, New York 11580 on Wednesday July 31, 2019 at 10:00 am. Also, take a moment and show someone a random act of kindness in honor of Grace.
