Maria Elena Vazquez

On the morning of October 14th, 2017, our beloved mother Maria Elena Gonzalez Vazquez took the hand of Jesus. On this earth, she was a woman full of grace and unyielding strength. Her smile lit up every room, and together with her love, was an overwhelming presence proving the validity of passion she had for her family. The family she leaves behind is a testament to her amazing life and the dedicated mother she was to her children. She was born in Havana, Cuba. She lived in New York City after moving there as a child, and eventually moved to Florida following her marriage to Roger Reinaldo Vazquez. She had a passion for dancing and never went a day without listening to music. Some of her other favorite activities were to spend days at the beach with friends, family and her children. She would always be found in the kitchen and found great joy in bringing family together around the dinner table. She would end each and every night after a fulfilling time of dancing, and socializing with friends and family at the beach to see the sunrise. Her real reasons for doing this we believe she kept to herself, but now as she grasps the hands of our beautiful Lord and Savior, it truly gives us comfort knowing that he is giving her the answers or knowledge that she was possibly searching for. And if it was just simply for the beauty that she loved to witness, then I am sure he is giving her front row seating for all eternity. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Fatima Williams, and sons Roger Luis Vazquez and Christopher Julian Vazquez. She had eight grandchildren, Ariana, Julia, Joshua, Sophia, Isabella, Laila, Luis, and Christopher. She also has two surviving sisters Maria Puzino and MM Cristina Gonzalez. The visitation and viewing will take place on Thursday, October 19th at 6pm. Location: Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory The wake service (speaker) is at 7:30 pm and promptly ends at 9pm. Funeral mass is on Friday, Oct 20 at 12 noon, sharp.
