Maria De Los Ángeles González Santiago
Maria De Los Ángeles González Santiago, lovingly known by her nickname “Malin” to family and close friends, was born on October 2, 1954, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to the late Juan Gonzalez and Palmira Santiago.
Malin passed away on January 26, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 71.
Maria (Malin) was a beloved wife and mother. There was nothing she would not do for her three boys.
She was a truly special person with a strong personality and a heart full of kindness and love. Wherever she went, she was the life of the party and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to travel, savor good food, and enjoy her Medalla beer. She cherished the beach and held a deep love for Puerto Rico. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs, Pancho and Jack.
To all who knew her and shared time with her, she leaves a great void and immense sadness, but also hearts filled with beautiful memories and enduring love.
Malin is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Suarez (Papo); her three sons, Juan Andres, Jose Alejandro, and Javier Antonio; her sisters, Nanette Gonzalez, Angelina Gonzalez, and Brenda Gonzalez; and her brother, Juan Gonzalez.
Malin’s love, laughter, and vibrant spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us to live fully, love deeply, and cherish every moment.
“In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:2
