Maria Y. Mensah

Dr. (Mrs.) Maria Kramarenko Mensah, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and esteemed medical doctor, passed away peacefully at her West Palm Beach home in Christ on August 23, 2026, after a blessed and fruitful life. Born on July 1, 1937, in the quaint village of Plaxtievka, Maria's journey through life was one of dedication, love, and profound impact.

Maria graduated from the Odessa Medical Institute in 1968, where she laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to healing and serving others. It was at the Odessa Medical institute that she met and married the love of her life, Joseph D. Mensah, in 1966. Together, they embarked on a new chapter in Accra, Ghana, where Maria dedicated over 40 years of exemplary service as a medical doctor at the Chest Clinic, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. 

Throughout her career, Maria's unwavering dedication to her patients and her profession earned her the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege to work alongside her. Her colleagues and patients alike were touched by her faithfulness, loving kindness, and the beautiful heart with which she approached every aspect of her work. 

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Maria's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Edith and Robert, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and perseverance. Her grandchildren, Esmat, Amira, John-Paul, and Mark-David, and great-grandchildren, Aila and Malek, were the light of her life. Maria's nurturing spirit and wise counsel will forever be cherished by her family, who were blessed to have known her love and guidance. 

Maria's life was a testament to the power of kindness, faith, and the enduring impact one person can have on the lives of many. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, inspiring future generations to live with the same grace and generosity that she embodied.
