Maria J. Ferreira

On Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019, Maria Ferreira passed peacefully in her sleep. Loving mother, dear sister, wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. Maria was born in Madeira, Portugal to José and Filomena DaSilva. She was the oldest of five sisters: Teresa (deceased), Zélia, Angela and Lucy. She was happily married for 59 years to Eleuterio Ferreira, who she is now reunited with in heaven. Survived by her two children: Bruno Ferreira and Joana Moore. A loving grandmother to: Michael Melim, Nicholas Ferreira, and Stephanie Melim. Fortunate enough to also be the great grandmother of Jackson and Brady Melim. Maria had a passion for gardening with an impressive array of beautiful orchids and anthuriums. She also enjoyed preparing traditional Portuguese meals and hosting family gatherings. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 5th, 2019 at Palms West Funeral Home at 10:30am. She will then be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace alongside her loving husband.
