Maria was born in Donna, TX on September 21,1945. She attended many schools because of the family's the demands of migrant seasonal work. These frequent moves provided Maria with the opportunity to read numerous books from multiple libraries. She shared how she read all the books at various libraries. In 1966, she married Efraim Brewster Jr and they were blessed with 3 beautiful children. At an early age, Maria was taught work ethics, which included dedication, commitment, and reliability. Maria entered the healthcare industry where she was the sole care giver of an elderly client for over 10 years. Later, Maria changed careers, starting her sole proprietor cleaning service. Eventually, she was employed by JCPenney's and later retired from Home Depot. Maria's passions consisted of faith, family, and fondness for others. As the family's Matriarch she exhibited stellar ethical and moral values. Maria was strongly devoted to our Heavenly Father. Her devotions, prayer time and relationship with Him were vital to her daily tasks. She walked with the highest integrity and yet was as dainty as a flower. Maria loved and adored her family. Her motto: 'Family First.' Maria indoctrinated the significance of 'family unity' preaching the vitality of family cohesiveness. Maria remained vigilant in her beliefs, spending quality time with family, passion for reading and watching television with lil Mimi [her dog] as her shadow until the day she went on to be with the Lord. Maria is survived by her 3 children: Rebecca Brewster, Barbara Brewster Boivin [Daniel] and David Efraim Brewster. 6 grandchildren: Cecilia Martinez Perez [Adam], Ileana Marie Deluna, Briana Marie Cox, Brandon Efraim Cox, [Shana], Rebecca Elizabeth Gaidosh [Daniel] and Hailey Marie Brewster; and 11 great grandchildren. Maria leaves behind her siblings Coy Refugio and Beatrice Villarreal, Emma George [Robert], Yolanda Villarreal, Joe and Rafaela Villarreal, Eleana Castillo [Alex], Elisa Rivera [Jose], Felipe Villarreal [Debra], Louisa Vizlegas [Alfredo], and Mary Villarreal. Maria is predeceased by her beautiful beloved granddaughter Briana Marie Cox. Others who preceded her in passing are Lulu Lourdes, Jane Villarreal, Victoriana Villarreal, Santiago and Jovita Villarreal, Rita Rodriguez and Efraim Brewster Jr. Mom was very passionate about The Briana Marie Cox Foundation.
